Stay Reckless | The Minimalist

Guess who’s back!? If feels like a decade since my last post. I have been so busy trying to sort out my life but I’m back now and ready to rummmbleeee (imagine a referee for a wrestling match saying that)!I’m sure you have noticed I have tweaked a couple things on my blog; just a smidge. Initially, when I made my blog I was more focused on the content rather than the visual aspect of it. I needed my blog to scream me so I revamped it and I must say I am pretty darn proud of myself *leans back in chair and drinks hot chocolate* (coffee is nasty) .
Recently, I discovered this site called Polyvore and now I am completely addicted to it. I can put outfits together without having to buy them! It is helping me to curb my shopaholic ways! Try stripping down your look to the basics and one statement piece that stands out from the crowd. I absolutely love the block waterfall jacket from River Island. it just looks so warm and comfy; perfect for layering in winter or just throw it over your outfit to give it that little something something!

Oh wow that sounded like an ad for one of those we can help you help yourself adverts.  As a uni student every penny counts so managing your money well is very important. I’m not going to lie, I’m really bad with managing money but I have learnt a few tips on how to make my money work for me. It can be hard to save, especially if you don’t have a large income coming in. As P.T Barnum once said “Money is a terrible master but an excellent servant”. I have come up with a couple of tips that will hopefully help you save and be practical with your spending.

Can’t sleep?

My sister went on a school trip to France a couple weeks ago, guess what she got me!? A dream catcher!! I’ve always wanted one but I could never find one I liked. When I go back to Uni I’m going to hang it above my bed. I don’t know why this excites me so much; I think it’s because I have been looking for ages and now I have the perfect one! Anyway, you’ve probably noticed that I have an obsession with dream catchers. The handmade ones look original and old; that is what I love about them. Though I’m not sure the one my sister got me is handmade but it still looks awesome !!

DIY|Clip In Hair Extensions

This is the first time I have ever done my hair by myself. I feel so proud of myself because now if someone asks who did your hair I can say I did it myself! It’s a new achievement to add to the list.  It took me approximately 6 hours to do it in total but to be fair, I spent 4 hours sewing tracks together because I wanted to make the tracks thicker. The rest of the time was spent plaiting my hair while watching Dallas. I have watched one episode and now I’m hooked. I’m going to have a Dallas marathon tomorrow; can’t wait!!

You’re getting closer and closer to achieving your goals. Soon your plans will start to come to life and you’ll be closer to getting everything you ever wanted. These Boots Were Made For Walking

Boots, boots, boots!! You know how they say diamonds are a girl’s best friend? Well boots are mine! I wear boots 24/7. Well not 24/7 obviously; you know what I mean. My collection of boots has slowly expanded over the years and continues to grow (I’m a boots hoarder; so sue me!). Continue reading

“If you want to live a memorable life, you have to be the kind of person who remembers to remember” – Joshua Foer

Today, I thought I’d take a trip down memory lane. If someone asked me how do you make amazing memories? I would say do the things you’ve always wanted to do, don’t look back and have no regrets so that you’ll always have something fun to look back on. I remember when my brother, sister and I invented this game where we would place a duvet at the top of the stairs, sit on it, fold the bottom of the duvet over our legs and wiggle about until we were sliding down the stairs. We would do it over and over just to feel the rush again. Every time I think about when I was young I can’t help but laugh at the crazy games we made up. I don’t think anyone has done some of the crazy things I did as a child. For example, my siblings and I used to make an indoor swing using a skipping rope and a large teddy. We used to tie the skipping rope around the bear and then tie the other end to the bannister of the stairs. Surprisingly, it worked most of the time and 70% of the time no one was hurt. My mum used to say that if there was silence in the house then we were up to no good. As you can imagine, my parents tried to keep our fizzy drink intake low or they would suffer the consequences of our hyperactivity.

Taking The Plunge

Today, I thought I’d tell you a bit about myself and how Trust Sinach came to be. If you don’t already know, my name is Ihe (pronounced e-hay). My Leicester friends call me Spinachi (imagine someone saying it in a Jamaican accent and you’ve got it!) and my London friends call me Sinach or Sports. I don’t know why, but no matter where I go people automatically think EA Sports (just like the advert); I’m guessing it will stick with me forever! Continue reading

From A-Z: Wardrobe Essentials

I think everyone has something in their closet that they can’t live without and I’m going to share some of mine. At the top of my list is my leather jacket. To be honest, I can’t remember what I used to wear before I got my leather jacket. My leather jacket goes with basically everything in my wardrobe. I wear it with military boots and jeans to get an edgy look or I team it up with a bodycon midi dress and heels for a night out. I remember the days when I used to hate long dresses and skirts because I thought they covered too much, I must have been smoking yam. Less is definitely more in my opinion.
